1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
If you find yourself stuck on how or what to write on your prayer request here are some steps you can take.
Step 1. What is the Purpose of this request.
Are you asking for forgiveness; or to praise Him or to thank Him?
Step 2. Organize your thoughts
Think about what you want to say and then take a few notes. This will help you stay on track and focus on one issue so you can get clarity. Don’t get sidetracked by some other ideas that cross your mind.
Don’t feel pressure to do it a certain way because there isn’t one right way to pray to God.
Step 3. Write your Prayer Request
-
Start with something you are grateful for, for all the many blessings He has given you.
-
Praise Him and acknowledge His love for you and yours for Him,
-
Tell God what is troubling you or share your joy with him. Whatever is on your heart, give it to God.
Step 4 close your prayer with a simple “In Jesus Name, Amen”
