MLC Transition to all Indoor Services FAQ

When do we start meeting inside for all 3 services?

We will begin meeting inside the building beginning on Sunday, October 18th

We will have three gatherings: 8, 9:30 & 11:00 am

Will we be socially distancing?

Yes.  Everyone using the building is to follow the posted safety policy which may change from time to time.  Please read and follow them.

Will I have to wear a mask?

For the time being, we will be requesting that everyone over the age of 5 wear masks

while in the building. We encourage this especially when singing or projecting our voices in worship.

Do I have to make a reservation?

No, but it will help us in preparing for Sunday worship, and those without reservations will be the first asked to use overflow seating.

How do I make a reservation?

Simply go to the home page for Messiah (mlcjoliet.org)

then follow the links for the service you plan to attend or call the office.

We believe we have enough seating available in the Sanctuary as well as other venues throughout the building. You can also help us plan by filling out the following survey If you haven’t already: MLC October Church Check-in

When should I show up?

Please show up no more than 15 minutes before your service time.

(Unless you are scheduled to serve that day then show up at your scheduled time)

What will it look like on a typical Sunday?

We will have 50-minute services which will allow time for transitions between services.

The entire building is treated as needed, with a kid-safe product that kills viruses on contact.

It lasts 30 days on touch surfaces and 90 days on non-contact surfaces.

In the sanctuary, each party will be seated 6 feet from each other.

Afterward, we will ask for those with children to go directly to the south end of the building to get your kids and exit door 11. Parents in Insight Adult Sunday School are asked to do the same. Those without kids to pick up are encouraged to head outside using doors 1 & 13.

Afterward, spend some time visiting with your friends!

What will it look like for my baby, preschooler, or grade schooler?

Nursery care will not be available for infants through Pre-K at this time, but you are welcome to keep them with you in worship. We will have “busy bags” for all kids in worship!
